Spaas Candles achieves the coveted EcoVadis Platinum rating. This is a rating based on three dimensions of sustainability: Environment, Social & Governance (ESG). Platinum is the highest recognition one can achieve at EcoVadis. This puts Spaas no less than in the top 1% of best-performing companies in terms of sustainability. The assessment was recently sharpened considerably, making it more unique to win this platinum label. Spaas mainly wants to demonstrate that quality can also go hand in hand with sustainability and corporate responsibility. 

A blazing start

Ecovadis Rating

Since its inception in 2007, the EcoVadis platform has developed into one of the world's leading providers of corporate sustainability ratings. EcoVadis is an independent body that assesses more than 150,000 companies worldwide on sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

It recognises Spaas' performance in four crucial areas: 

• environment
• labour and human rights
• ethics
• sustainable procurement  

Every year the assessment becomes more stringent, which is why progress within this certification is by no means a given. After achieving the EcoVadis Gold label in recent years, Spaas may now, as icing on the cake, exchange this medal for the highest ranking, the EcoVadis Platinum rating. This means Spaas is among the top 1% best-performing companies worldwide in terms of sustainability.

Sustainability Manager Elise Maris confirms the ongoing efforts within the organisation: "The platinum rating confirms that Spaas is a reliable partner that strives daily to balance quality, affordability and minimal environmental and social impact.
